Reading Royals Artistic Swimming Club, one of the UK’s leading artistic swimming clubs, will bring a special festive performance to the pool, combining music, movement and beautifully synchronised routines.
Almost Synchro

Almost Synchro are a group of 20 Bristol based swimmers, united by a passion for outdoor swimming and performing together. Originally brought together in 2019 as part of a mass synchronised swimming performance to celebrate the centenary of Bristol’s Henleaze Swimming Lake, post-pandemic, a smaller group continued to meet and practice and Almost Synchro was born, ballet leg first!
Reading Phoenix Choir

We are excited to welcome Reading Phoenix Choir to sing carols for us this Christmas. Reading Phoenix Choir was founded in 1969 and has grown into one of the country’s leading amateur choirs. With a rich repertoire spanning centuries of sacred and secular music, the choir has performed extensively across the UK and internationally, including at prestigious festivals and competitions.

Appassionato is the performance ensemble of Violin with Helen, bringing together talented young string players who perform to a high musical standard. Appassionato have been awarded First Place in the Woodley Festival 16 & Under Ensemble Class every year from 2020-2026, and won the Norman Head Award for best group performance across all categories (2024 and 2025). The ensemble performs regularly at public events, from the foyer of the Christmas panto at the Hexagon to retirement homes, farmers’ markets, shopping centres and restaurants around Reading.

NEW YEAR’S EVE
Toast to the end of the year at our fabulous New Year’s Eve party.
Begin the evening with a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival to the restaurant, followed by an elegant five course meal, with choices for meat, pescetarian, vegetarian and vegan.
Enjoy entertainment from magician Leigh Edgecomb, the professional ice breaker, who specializes in close up magic, including card tricks, making borrowed items disappear and tearing things apart and restoring them.
Later in the evening, find you and your friends at our fun casino tables, gambling fake money for real Lido prizes, over a game of Blackjack or Roulette.
Taking us into 2027 in real style are a 1920’s inspired jazz trio: Silk Street Jazz.
Celebrating New Year’s Eve at Thames Lido, is one you won’t want to miss. The festive lights will reflect from the pool all evening, bringing that unique atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else in Reading.
